Card Game Sweat Out!

I wanted to share with you one of my favorite gym workouts because holly moly does it make you sweat and I always feel so good afterwards! 9 out of 10 times I do this in the gym I get stopped by someone who asks me what I’m doing. One person even thought I was really into math and asked if I was a mathematician. Hah. Don’t know where they got that, but it makes me laugh.

I love this workout because not only is it fun and keeps me engaged, but you can do it anywhere! The only thing you need is a deck of cards, dumbbells (Travel hack: I just use water bottles) and a piece of paper.

So, here’s how it works:

On your piece of paper assign each card suit an exercise. ♡♢♤♧ Each time I do this I like to focus on a zone of my body, or on a type of workout such as strength or cardio. I also try to do exercises that work multiple parts of my body at a time. The possibilities are endless which is why I love this workout! Below is a chart of how I break this down:

Upper BodyLower BodyAbsCardio
Plank Row with Dumbbells
Reverse Arm Fly
Superman
Tricep Dips
Push-Ups
Goal Post Press

Squats
Lunges
Princess Lunges
Sumo Squats with Dumbbells
Side-step Lunge
Hip Raises
Donkey Kicks
Fire Hydrants
Plank Row with Dumbbells
Mountain Climbers
Plank Jacks
Side planks
Plank Hip Dips
Russian Twist
Plank Toe Taps

Burpees
Jumping Jacks
Jump Rope
Mountain Climbers
High Knees
Butt Kicks
Skater Jumps
Push-Ups

Time to get down to business! Take your deck of cards and flip over four cards at a time. The number on the card is the number of times you do the exercise you assigned the suit. For face cards Aces = 1, Jack=11, Queen =12, and King = 13.

If you want more of a challenge, in between your sets of four cards, put in some cardio. If I’m in the gym, I’ll jog a lap around the track, or at home burpees etc.

This workout is no joke, so make sure you have tons of water and get ready to sweat it out!
